From Stirling to Marrakesh: Pedaling for a Purpose
On 3rd May 2025, Johnny Dreczkowski, a dedicated fundraiser from Bridge of Allan, embarked on a monumental solo cycling journey spanning 4,000 km from Stirling Castle to Marrakesh, Morocco. This ambitious endeavor, dubbed “The Rock to Morocco”, aims to raise vital funds for the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund, supporting families affected by childhood cancer .
Johnny’s route traverses seven countries: Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and finally Morocco. His path includes challenging terrains like the Col du Portel in the Pyrenees and the Atlas Mountains, showcasing not just physical endurance but an unwavering commitment to a heartfelt cause.
Building on Past Triumphs: The Rock to Rome
This isn’t Johnny’s first foray into long-distance fundraising. In May 2023, he completed the “Rock to Rome”, cycling solo from Stirling to the Colosseum in Rome. That journey covered over 1,400 miles across six countries, including ascents through the Austrian Alps and the Apennine Mountains .
Reflecting on his motivations, Johnny shared:
“The Eilidh Brown Respite Home provides much-needed support and a safe haven for families dealing with the unimaginable. They offer a space of comfort and care, and I want to help ensure that with annual costs of around £50,000, they can continue their unbelievable work.”
The Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund: A Sanctuary for Families
Established in memory of Eilidh Brown, who tragically passed away from cancer at the age of 15, the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund has been instrumental in creating a countryside respite home near Stirling. This sanctuary offers families facing childhood cancer a peaceful retreat, helping them create cherished memories during challenging times .

Johnny’s journey has garnered widespread support. Notably, The Meadowpark Bar and Kitchen in Bridge of Allan is hosting the Rock to Morocco Music Festival 2025 on 14th June 2025, with all proceeds benefiting the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund .
